Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at Dallas Children's Theater. We are excited to work with you! Throughout our history, volunteers and Dallas Children's Theater have enjoyed a rich, fun and rewarding partnership. Your generous time will contribute to our serving an annual average of 190,000 children and families we serve here at DCT.

A Standing Ovation for Our Volunteers

We could not have completed the 3,400 Annual Fund Mailing without the help of "Madeline Moms" Angie, Debbie & Karin (30 hrs); Emily Jefferson (3hrs), Delphine Humphrey (3 hrs) and the amazing Magill Family, pictured below: Stacey (mom), Nathan (dad), Ben, Elizabeth and Sarah (100 hrs). Yes, even the dad helped.

It was like working in Santa's workshop when the Magills were around. The togetherness, the fun and the camaraderie - all the while working diligently on the Dallas Children's Theater task at hand. One day, the dad joined in right after riding his bike one hour from work. Then another day after grocery shopping.

Feature

Dallas Children's Theater wishes to thank the Magills and all of our volunteers for their time and effort.

Volunteer Opportunities

Ushering (ages 13+)
Volunteer Ushering at DCT involves taking tickets, passing out programs and clean-up.  As an usher, you receive FREE admission to the performance. Ushering at DCT can fulfill volunteer hour requirements at most schools and organizations and looks wonderful on a resume!

Volunteer Usher hours are Fridays 6:30pm.–9:30pm.; Saturdays & Sundays 12:30pm.–3:30pm and 3:30pm–6:30pm.

Office Work (ages 16+).
Office duties require appropriate dress, working with files, organizing data, making copies and computer data entry when applicable.

Large Mailings are done several times a year. Responsibilities can include folding, stuffing, sealing, stamping, and handwriting envelopes for personalization. Mailings that become all-day projects come with a free lunch.

Office work hours are weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm

Miscellaneous Projects (ages 16+)
1. Events require very hands on volunteers. Responsibilities can include (but are not limited to) setting up and breaking down materials, working at information and will-call tables, handing out resources, etc. Each event has unique elements and responsibilities vary accordingly. When you volunteer for particular events, DCT will always welcome you to stay and enjoy that event.

2. We always have projects that require special expertise, particularly in the area of marketing, public relations, grantwriting and donor relations, volunteer management, human resources, inventory, set building, store and costume shop ambassadors, etc. If you have special talents and interests in these areas, we'd like to talk with you.

Miscellaneous project hours vary according to the project.
