PADDINGTON SAVES CHRISTMAS

Rehearsal Dates: 11/08/21 – 11/30/21
Performance Dates: 12/01/21 – 12/23/21

PLEASE NOTE: All cast and production team members must be fully vaccinated.

All auditions will be by video submission only. Deadline: Monday, September 20th at 9PM.

ROLES AVAILABLE:
seeking an ensemble of ADULT actors & puppeteers
Paddington – a puppet – a very polite bear. He is very well-meaning and full of good intentions but his trusting nature can often get him into trouble.
Mr. Curry – adult actor – Paddington's unpleasantly anxious next-door neighbor.
Aunt Matilda – adult actor – Mr. Curry's domineering, curmudgeonly Aunt who is visiting for the holiday.

Accents should be working/middle class London.

AUDITION VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1. All submissions are due by Monday, September 20, 2021 by 9PM.
2. Video submissions should be well lit in front of a neutral background. Do not include title cards.
3. Please include a close-up and full body shot. Framing should be 3/4 or full body.
4. Please slate at the beginning of the audition. State name, height, the role that you are reading for, and if you are able to work as a local hire in Dallas, Texas.
5. Your audition should not exceed 3 minutes. Click each character name for script sides: Paddington, Mr. Curry, Aunt Matilda. Paddington puppeteers are encouraged to use a hand-in-mouth style puppet, i.e. a sock puppet to display mouth synching skills.

• DCT operates under an LOA-TYA agreement with Actors' Equity Association.
• DCT is a member of the Equity Candidacy program.
• Non-Union adult actors will receive a performance fee.
• Performances will take place in DCT's Rosewood Center Baker Theater.
• Schedule includes weekday student matinees & weekend matinee performances.

5. Your audition should not exceed 2 minutes. Please submit 30 to 60 seconds of movement dance that is creative, fanciful and unique to the performer. Music is optional. Actors are encouraged to look at the popular children's book for inspiration.
