Expand and Reinforce Teachable Moments from our Shows

After your class views a show at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts, a professional theater artist conducts a workshop using hands-on activities to emphasize important themes and concepts from the play.
Times: Dallas Children's Theater shows typical run 1 1/2–2 hours. Immediately following the show, each class staying for a Dramashop will be directed to an eating area for a 30-minute lunch break before the workshop begins. The Dramashop will then last one hour. (For example: if a show runs from 10:00-11:30 a.m. the Dramashop will begin at approximately 12:00 noon and last until 1:00 p.m.)
Number of Students: Up to 25 students per Dramashop (approximately one regular class size). This allows for adequate participation for each student. One classroom teacher must remain with each Dramashop class for the lunch and workshop.
Cost: $80.00 for each Dramashop workshop for up to 25 (and in some instance up to 30) students.
Booking Information: Dallas Children's Theater can accommodate up to four Dramashop workshops after a 10:00 a.m. performance at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts. Dramashops will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
To book a Dramashop or for more information contact Nancy Schaeffer, Education at 214-978-0110,

Are you unable to make a Dallas Children's show? You can still schedule a Dramashop for your class. Bring your class to the Rosewood Center for Family Arts and a Dallas Children's Theater professional will conduct a general theater/drama workshop that will be fun, educational and hands-on for all students. Costs, number of students and length of workshop are the same as the other Dramashop workshops.
